December 17, 2025 – Toronto, ON – Lactalis Canada Foodservice, a division of Canadian dairy leader Lactalis Canada, is pleased to introduce the Lactalis Culinary Companion Scholarship in partnership with We Care – a charitable organization dedicated to supporting children, youth and adults living with disabilities across Canada. 

Aimed at breaking down barriers in the kitchen to empower culinary students with disabilities, the new Lactalis Culinary Companion Scholarship is a one-time award of $4,000 designed to support one outstanding culinary student living with a disability. 

“This initiative is more than financial support – it’s a celebration of talent, perseverance, and the power of inclusive opportunities,” said We Care Executive Director, Maria Collins. “By investing in future chefs, Lactalis Canada and WeCare aim to help individuals living with disabilities turn their culinary dreams into reality.” 

“This scholarship reflects our shared commitment to empowering future culinary leaders,” said Iven Zanardo, General Manager, Foodservice and Ingredients & Exports at Lactalis Canada. “By supporting students in culinary arts, Lactalis Canada Foodservice and We Care aim to break down barriers and create pathways for success.” 

Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a recognized post-secondary Culinary Arts program in Canada. The recipient will be selected at the discretion of a select committee appointed by WeCare and the scholarship award will be presented at the 2026 WeCare Gala.

Mississauga, Ont., December 16, 2024 – A new Tim Hortons location will soon open up within the Rabba Marché located at 12 Harrison Garden Blvd, in North York. The Tim Hortons is set to open just before Christmas, marking the 15th coffee shop within Rabba’s network of trusted, 24/7, community-focused stores in the Greater Toronto Area.

“We’re honoured to open our 15th Tim Hortons location,” said Rick Rabba, President of Rabba Fine Foods.  “This partnership helps us offer a wider range of delicious items and well-loved experiences that our customers expect. Rabba has served the North York community for over 20 years from the Harrison Garden Blvd. location.   While the Rabba Marché remains open 24/7, the new in-house Tim Hortons counter will operate daily from 6am to 10pm, offering a full range of Tim Hortons baked goods, breakfast and beverage offerings.   

To celebrate the opening, Tim Hortons customers will receive free cookies on opening day, with more giveaways throughout the week.

Calgary, Alta., December 16, 2025 - Second Cup Café announces the opening of its newest café location in the Trinity Hills area of Calgary, which officially opened its doors on December 15.

The new Trinity Hills café, located at 435 Na’a Common employs nine team members and is situated near Olympic Plaza, offering guests a welcoming space to enjoy Second Cup’s premium coffee, specialty beverages, and food offerings while connecting with the surrounding community.

Toronto, December 15, 2025 – Jimmy John's, the Sandwich of Sandwiches, opens its newest Canadian location on December 17 at 299 King St West in Toronto. The restaurant is the latest addition to the brand's growing presence across the Greater Toronto Area and marks the company's seventh location in Ontario, 11th in Canada.

To celebrate the opening, the first 100 guests will receive a complimentary regular sandwich and a 16-oz drink. After the first 100 guests are served, guests can get a regular classic sandwich for five dollars until closing on December 17.

"Opening on King Street West allows us to serve one of the most active neighbourhoods in the country," says Kim Slongo, director of operations at Foodtastic, the team leading the brand in Canada.
